From 2000-5 Graham was Youth Music Projects Director at Beaumont Street Studios, Huddersfield, leading a major sub-regional Youth Music programme of creative projects.  The initial 18-month programme gained further funding and was taken into YM's Partnership Scheme, as a model project, exhibiting best practice. During this time Graham built a consortium of  more than 10 organisations working together. These included Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Lawrence Batley Theatre, Hudawi (Afro-Caribbean Association), Corridor Arts (Barnsley), Pilot Theatre, 3D Productions (Castleford), Rathbone, Kirklees Music School, Children's Rights, Victim Support, etc. Prior to this Graham had been a founder member of the Education Advisory Panel at London's Wigmore Hall, helping to formulate and activate the wide ranging community and education programme. He has continued to lead, devise and be consultant on numerous and wide ranging education and community projects large and small.

Amongst a great range of work, many projects have been with major national companies, including opera companies, ROH, ENO Baylis Programme, ETO, Glyndebourne, WNO, Opera North, with orchestras Sinfonia 21, BBC Philharmonic, Orchestra of St John's Smith Square, English Northern Philharmonic, festivals at Lichfield, Huddersfield Contemporary Music, Leeds Dance, Bradford, York Early Music, venues & organisations such as Wycombe Swan Theatre, Lawrence Batley Theatre, Salisbury Arts Centre, Warwick Arts Centre, Woodhorn Museum, Royal Armouries Leeds, Ferens Gallery, Hull, Yorkshire Dance Centre, prisons, young offenders centres, schools, special schools and LEAs. 

Some project and residency examples include:
  • Jan - July 2015 Haalin' the Lines: musical director with massed choirs, soloists and Jayess Brass Band - large scale choral project with original songs by Tim Dalling, based on stories from Newbiggin by the Sea Genealogy Project (supported by bait - ACE Creative People and Places in South East Northumberland)
  • The Unthanks, 20,000 Voices Community Choirs, ACE bait project Big Sing SE Northumberland
  •  Skipton Camerata Vivaldi Seasons project in Doncaster & Hull schools
  • Action for Children Charity Christmas Concerts, Leeds
  • Facade project with Swaledale schools, for Swaledale Festival
  • Singing Saturdays & Community Choir workshops with 20,000 Voices
  • 2007-11  Hexham Abbey Festival Education & Community programme
  • Come & Sing workshops, incl Spem in Alium & Striggio Ecce Beatem Lucem at Harewood House
  • Creative Music schools workshop & training days for Education Bradford

  • 2001-02 Sound Inventors lead composer, spnm/PRSF/Youth Music national young composer project,          with Django Bates & Human Chain (Leeds & Bradford projects)
  • Ferham School, Rotherham residency - Songbook on Midsummer Night's Dream
  • Flintshire Castles Composer in Residence (working with 5 schools)
  • Forest Child; Musical Director Welsh National Opera children's opera project touring
  • Composer in Residence, Wrexham Country Parks (working with 5 schools)1997-98  
  • Travelling Through the Paradise Fields – composer/MD community opera; cast of 200 incl soloists, choir, children's chorus, orchestra, scrap band, rock band & "whistle" ensemble, soundtrack & multi-media
